I am Jane Hart and I founded the Centre in 2005 to provide independent advice and consultancy on the use of technologies for learning and performance. This website has now become one of the world’s most visited learning sites on the Web, with over 125,000 monthly visits.
The website hosts a number of major resources, including a Directory of Learning & Performance Tools that contains over 2,000 tools, links to articles and articles created by me, as well as online version of books, Social Learning Handbook and a mini-book version of The Workplace Learning Revolution.
Top 100 Tools for Learning
For the last 6 years, I have conducted an annual survey of learning tools and compiled a yearly Top 100 Tools for Learning list. I released the 2012 list on 1 October 2012. As this has become a very popular resource, I have now produced a supplementary resource, A Practical Guide to the Top 100 Tools, which will help you find out more about how to make the most of the world’s most popular tools for learning in both education and the workplace.
Workshops, Coaching & Mentoring
In 2013 Jane launched a new initiative with Harold Jarche: The Connected Worker. The digitally connected workplace demands a completely new set of skills. Becoming a successful social organisation will require more than just the implementation of enterprise social technologies. Developing, supporting, and encouraging people to use these new social workplace skills will be just as important. Harold and I work with enterprises to help to build the new capabilities of the Connected Worker though our workshops, coaching and mentoring services.
On 7 February 2013, at the Learning Awards 2013, the Learning & Performance Institute presented me with the Colin Corder Award for Outstanding Contribution to Learning.
