Comments from those who selected Flash as one of their Top 10 Tools in 2009

  • n my opinion is a synonym for e-Learning development today. The most appealing and interactive online courses gotta be developed in Flash Henrique Rabello
  • I have not used CS4 yet, but if you know how to use Flash, especially Actionscript, then you have one of the most powerful tools in your arsenal. Flash continues to amaze me with its growth and power. You can create content for web, desktop (AIR), mobile phones (FlashLite), videogame platforms, and one day I would not be surprised if it was used to create the application that powered your kitchen appliances. It’s an amazing time to be a Flash Developer.  Tim Kindberg

Comments from those who selected Flash as one of their Top 10 Tools in 2008

  • "The best tool to create interactive content. Initial learning curve is steep but it is worth the effort to get to grips with."  Karl Goddard
  • "Not easy to get to grips with but a great tool for creating interactive and engaging learning. Increasingly you can find base code for the animations you want and build a library of reusable code to make things much faster. Developments with xml and better accessibility means Flash will increasingly be a tool of choice for more many creative elearning developers."  Steve Rayson
  • "My workhorse development tool. What can I say – Flash rocks. I use this for prototyping interactivity, building mock-ups for proposals and even for creating artwork. It’s good with audio and now video. Been using it for years and will certainly continue to do so."  Rob Hubbard
  • "This is the primary tool which I am using for my final year project in college to develop an eLearning player. It is also the primary tool used at Interactive Services for developing eLearning courseware. It's great in that both programmers and designers can use the one tool to create interactive eLearning content"  Karen OBrien
  • "While HTML and general authoring tools have matured enormously over the past 10 years, many fall short in the areas of multimedia, interaction and engagement. Here Flash is a powerful tool in areas such as language learning, integration of user voices, slick presentation and general engagement for online games."  Seaghan Moriarty
  • "I love this tool because it's flexible. Yeah, it's not easy to learn but once you learn action script, you never want to go back to restrictive "template" type tools. It makes interactive, non-linear eLearning cool."  Janice Petosky

Comments from those who selected Flash as one of their Top 10 Tools in 2007

  • "I am a closet programmer and secretly prefer code to words, although I'm on the wagon at the moment. I’ve had wonderfully obsessive experiences with BASIC, Pascal, JavaScript and more recently, Flash ActionScript. I must stop thinking about it."  Clive Shepherd
  • "Once you get into a little Actionscript, flash is a very flexible tool for anything from animations to scenarios to learning checks."  Wendy Phillips
  • "With Flash, anything is possible."  B J Schone
  • "Not easy to get to grips with but a great tool for creating interactive and engaging learning. Increasingly you can find base code for the animations you want and build a library of reusable code to make things much faster. Developments with xml and better accessibility means Flash will increasingly be a tool of choice for more many creative elearning developers."  Steve Rayson
  • "I don't actually develop a thing with Flash myself, but our designers and programmers do some fabulous stuff with it! As an instructional designer, I feel like I can design just about anything and these really smart people can do something with it in Flash."  Cammy Bean
  • "for tutorials developing"  Paulo Gingao
