-
a great venue for a
presentation that allows docs, video, audio, photos;
great for my students to teach their students; by the
time students pass middle school, they are sick of
creating PPTs; easy,
flexible, shareable
Sarah Davis
- is a Web 2.0 hosted service that
takes slide-type presentations to a whole new
level. It is easy to create presentations with
either audio or video support tracks. VoiceThread
makes it possible to record “live annotations” while
recording a presentation. The end result is a
streaming presentation that greatly improves
instructor presence. VoiceThread creates a warmer
teaching-learning experience. VoiceThread has made
several major improvements to the service. Soon,
VoiceThread should be fully ADA compliant.

"
Promotes asynchronous discussion about posted subjects.
This utility leapfrogs all other applications because of
its inclusiveness and simplicity. One a photo, video,
graphic or document is posted, visitors can comment on
it by recording audio files or entering text. You can
even phone your comments to the site. Can make graphic
notations on the item of discussion while talking. Tough
to describe, it’s a MUST SEE to BELIEVE."

"You can upload pictures and create an audio narrative to
go along with them. In addition, audio comments can be
left by visitors. VoiceThread also provides a great
deal to teachers by allowing them to get their premium
services for free, including allowing them to create a
zillion VoiceThreads for free. Happily, they’ve
finally incorporated the feature of allowing you
to include images off the web just by inserting its url."

"Uno de los pequeños descubrimientos
del año. Me ha permitido
trabajar en
proyectos muy motivadores. Adolece de falta de
usabilidad y es poco intuitiva, pero mola. Marca el
camino hacia un aprendizaje más colaborativo.

"A VoiceThread is an online media album
that allows people to make comments, either audio or
text, and share them with anyone they wish. A
VoiceThread allows an entire group’s story to be told
and collected in one place"

"A Web-based digital-storytelling application that
enables me to share my stories or slideshows through
audio, images, videos, or text with others online. VoiceThread allows visitors to make comments on
my stories or slideshows in: voice with a
microphone, voice with telephone, text, audio
file, and video with a webcam. I have used the
VoiceThread as an online discussion tool in my
class and it works quite well."

an entirely new level. It allows you and your students
to collaboratively share your thoughts on video whilst
watching simultaneously."
Mark Schumann
"Not used this yet but the potential
is enormous for kids to produce multimedia presentations
and comment on each other's work. Very AiFL. Especially
great because you can set a pro account for educators
for free"
Adam Sutcliffe
"Social audio and social imagery
personified. A perfect demonstration of how digital
media can be integrated into the curriculum and at the
same time explains the value of digital storytelling."
Andrew

"Without a doubt, as significant a development as the
pencil was to learning! I really mean that. Simply
upload photos and then watch as others speak and write
about the photos. Stories, maps, personal albums, advice
columns, everything is possible. Be sure to check out
Dr. Quinn's Love line - so cute. A special educator
discount only costs $10!!!"

"A
great tool for encouraging collaboration in your
classroom. Upload photos and add text, audio or

get students to share comments with each other."

comment on each other's stuff...with audio!"

so dynamic, so versatile... any tool that allows you to
easily mix/mash voice, text, images is a tool that can
reshape education. This is one of my favorites."

"just started working with this but can see it will be a
valuable tool for all subject areas. Love the fact that
my students also recognise its potential and offer lots
of great ideas for its use when I ask them how do they
think it could be used in classrooms."
Jenny Luca
"Again, new, and FREE. I’ve had students
creating and commenting on each others’ projects. Nice
work, easy tool, good fun."
