The Community is hosted on Yammer, where there are iPhone, Android and blackberry apps available to download. You can read the Community Tips here
Please note that the value of this free community comes from the exchange of ideas, experiences and resources between the participants, hence members are encouraged to contribute in conversations as soon as they feel comfortable to do so .
To join:
- EITHER send an email to jane.hart@c4lpt.co.uk requesting an invite
- OR if you already belong to a Yammer network, you will be able to request an invite at the following link: www.yammer.com/sociallearningcommunity
Here is some feedback from participants:
“this network is second only to my Twitter PLN (or PPN as I prefer to call it) as my go-to group. By design of course, the community is focused and continually reinforces focus on Social (non-formal) learning in both Orgs and Education. Yammer allows for deeper than tweets posts but enough brevity to not be confused with the reflective efforts found in blogs. Being that 90% of my access is via mobile device, I find the tool & community, like Twitter to meet my needs. Its always about Time &Value. Put in the time, you’ll see the value and likewise the more value you find, the more time you’ll put in.”
““I’ve learned more in the last few weeks by monitoring this community than I have in the past year in class….. It’s an amazing group – I have seen discussions on questions I hadn’t thought about and received pointers towards great articles…… Makes me wonder why I’m spending all that money on a formal education when I’m not learning as much….”
