Moodle: Powerful, easy to set
up, free, and engaging for students and teachers. It is my
favorite LMS by far, and I have used many.
Gmail: I couldn’t do without
it. I use it to archive all of my mail, and I can search for
specific emails in seconds.
Google reader: Let’s me keep
track of all of my RSS subscriptions, is very easy to use,
and I can access it anywhere.
Firefox: The ability to
customize Firefox with add-ins is what makes it so powerful.
I couldn’t do without it.
Wordpress: It has a great
interface, it is quick, reliable, and open-source.
Del.icio.us: Sharing
educational web sites and resources with other teachers is
painless with del.icio.us.
Skype: Connecting with others
from Sudan can be expensive. Skype allows our teachers and
staff to connect with others around the world for free
Audacity: Amazingly powerful
for such a small program. I use it almost everyday, even
though I have access to much more powerful audio editing
software packages.
Google Search: It is my
preferred search engine by far, quickly retrieving results
that are relevant and useful.
Ning: Setting up a Ning group
is quick and easy, and allows me to keep in contact with
colleagues from all over the world.
