I teach year
6 at Discovery Bay International School in Hong Kong.
I'm fairly new to using these new tools in my
classroom. In fact, I've got probably a top 100 of
tools I want to try! But I will give you my current top
ten that I do use. I'm sure they'll change as I try
more and more. My personal blog is
sharingmystuff.blogspot.com .

Delicious -
I have two delicious accounts - one for my class and one
for my own use. Just about every day I check a variety
of tags to see what 'new stuff' I can find.
Firefox -
Since this is what I use for my web browsing, I guess it
has to be on the list. I like that I can add my own
touches to it.
Google Search -
My students use it constantly and so do I. Any
questions? Ask Google.
Edublogs -
I've started a class blog for the first time this year.
My parents love it, the students love. It's been great,
and we're only beginners.
Pageflakes
- I use Pageflakes as a class portal (task lists,
homework, communication with parents, etc) and for
myself. For my personal pageflakes site, I've set it up
so I can view different delicious tags. Makes it very
easy.
Microsoft Word -
Still what I do all my writing in (although I've started
using Goodle Docs too).
Wikipedia -
My students use this as a starting point for a lot of
their research. I often do too.
Powerpoint
- Although I want to start using different tools for
presenting, my students still use powerpoint all the
time.
Google Docs
- I've just started using this and I love it. I haven'
taken advantage of it as a collaborating tool yet, but
hope to soon.
