TOP 10 TOOLS 2009
Marco Salas

I am Marco Salas. I am an IT instructor in Maryland, USA. I have been teaching for 6 years. My interests range from social networking to web 2.0 to all things Google. I've found many online tools to be extremely helpful in my teaching. It's amazing the style of teaching that is possible and emerging from online tools. Every aspect of the classroom has become shareable online!

Marco's Top 10 Tools as at 10 May 2009

  1. Google Search - you can find anything you want! All your questions are answered.

  2. HyperOffice - an online collaboration tool that allows you to share everything including documents, contacts, and calendars. The shared task management, shared links, and shared documents/files are particularly helpful for teaching.

  3. Evernote - Can put any notes you want out there for people to read.

  4. Word - the only word processor I use is the classic and the best.

  5. Skype - the best messenger, in my opinion. Saves chats in a way that is easy to reference back to.

  6. Adobe Photoshop - a wonderful image creater and editor. Can do anything graphic/image related with this program.

  7. PowerPoint - excellent for creating slideshows and presentations for teaching

  8. Camtasia Studio - a multimedia producer that is rich in functionality

  9. Wordpress - one of the best blogging sites out there. Create blogs to let colleagues and students know what's going on.

  10. LinkedIn - keep in touch and expand your professional networking
