TOP 10 TOOLS 2009
Stephanie Holden
I work in the Learning &
Development department of a medium sized company in the
south of England. I have been gradually introducing
Web 2.0/social media tools into our "learning mix" - and
here are some of my (and my users') favourites.
Stephanie's Top 10 Tools as at
2 August 2009
-
Yammer
- our internal real-time messaging tool
-
Etherpad - for "real"
real-time collaboration
-
Google Sites
- an easy way to get a web/wiki site up and running
-
Audacity
and
Jing - more and more of our people are using
these tools to create podcasts and screencasts
-
Elgg - we have just set up our new collaboration
platform using Elgg - cost effective, and I'm
getting addicted to it - we are using
it for networking, blogging, bookmarking - and it'll
probably take over some of the other tools I've
mentioned above
-
Google Maps - I need to go out
on visits from time to time, and couldn't do without
Google Maps on my iPhone
-
Evernote
- I'm also getting hooked on this
note taking tool for my iPhone too
-
Freemind
- I've only just got into mindmapping and am finding
it a very useful tool for capture ideas for design
of learning projects
-
Basecamp
- I use this to manage learning projects
