Tumblr is a microblogging site. Unlike blogs, tumblelogs aren’t designed like a newspaper column. They’re the easiest way to share everything you find, love, hate, or create — even if you’re not wordy.

Comments from those who selected Tumblr as one of their Top 10 Tools in 2008
- “micro blogging tool where i jot down quick ideas that i’ll use later for blog posts or that i need to come back to” Debora Gallo
- “2008 será el año del nanoblogging. Bien integrado en un contexto de PLE tiene personalidad propia y sirve de cuaderno de notas, a medio camino entre el blog, el flickr, el youtube o el twitter… Todo y nada, caos y orden. Me fascina. [2008 will be the year of nanoblogging. Well integrated in a PLE context it has its own personality and it serves as notebook, halfway between a blog, flickr, youtube or twitter... Everything and nothing, chaos and order. It fascinates to me]“ Emilio Quintana
- “The best microblogging site for me. I use it for new bloggers who are not sure if they even want to enter the blogosphere because it is so non-threatening. I tell them it is like bookmarking on steroids. Personally, I find myself using Tumblr a lot more to store videos (primarily) for presentations so I don’t have to maneuver through YouTube ,Vimeo, Google Video, etc. I simply go to my Tumblr site and there they are, nice and neat and ready to show. Using it as a way to funnel RSS feeds into one mega-feed is also a nice option but the limit on the number of feeds has thwarted me a time or two. Free” Audrey J Williams
